Its usually said that news channels like aajtak, starnews, indiatv, ndtv, liveindia, etc are hindi news channels but i have observed since a long time that they use shukria 100 times more than dhanyawaad….what is it..is it cool to speak urdu words and loutish or illiteracy to use "shuddh hindi" ?
one more thing, news anchors in india while talking to some paki ministers or mediapersons (for bombblasts, terrorism, etc) use "dhanyawaad" more often……but when talking to indians they try to show their competency of Urdu..why is it ? and do u need to be perfect in Urdu to become Indian Idol ? IF u dont have any knowledge of urdu (although u may be proficient in bengali, marathi, telegu, shuddh hindi, etc), can u become Indian Idol ?
Dont Indians have responsibility to popularise langauges that are indigenous , and not Urdu that is 90% persianized or arabianized…Is urdu not receiving undeserving importance in the media and bollywood ? what will happen to the indian languages that are on the verge of extinction or being adulterated with more and more persian word everyday…
will indians ever be able to speak as much urdu or persian as a pakistani or irani ? if not then why are they copying or trying to show "urdu is indian language" …although all the words that i have heard as "urdu" are of foreign origin
Probably to show off (they know a few words of another language).
It took me a long time to realise what they meant by Mezbaan Team during cricket updates.
It is also prevalent in Bengali news channels and newspapers too. Sometimes we find it very difficult to understand what they are trying to convey.
E.g. :- "Bandh mukabla-r naya dawai". None of these are Bengali words, yet they were the headline of a leading Bengali newspaper.
why do Hindi news channels use "shukria" far more often than "dhanyawad" , for saying thanks ?

I dont find any reason why not to use Shukria to thank someone as long as they understand what it means. Urdu is also Indian language. Urdu was born as a Unification language. Its not pertaining to any community.

HaHa…i am a pakistani….India studies hindi but it speaks urdu….and i can tell u that every pakistani is a better indian idol than ur people…..and yes Urdu is must for u ppl….Hindi is nowhere near the prestige and popularity of Urdu….i have heard indians saying that "bharatiya is such a boring word, hindustani is better to call myself"…..thats the reason…and moreover i have been spotting some copying of pakistani phrases and accents and dialects by indians….earlier nobody in india said "mere khayal mein" they instead said "mere khayal se"…& "yaqeen maniye" & "mera nai khayal" are native to pakistanis…..but now u ppl are copying our speaking styles..good job keep it up

As you know in any regional language in India use of english words like table, car,pen etc etc. is common.Similarly use of some urdu words like shukria, izazat is very common.

most of the anchors do not know the difference between Hindu and Urdu. Shudh hindi makes a person look cultured !

When you talk to any college/high school student in India these days, you will find him speaking more English in his sentences and less Hindi. Why don’t you object on that. World is now changing and you guys still stuck with such a minor issues.

Hindi in recent India is mixture of Sunskrit, Urdu, Pharsi and English. If news channel will start speaking pure Hindi then it would bounce even for some hindus. We all are educating our children in finest English speaking schools and expect them to read and speak root Hindi.
