Stone Island, Sacai Reimagine Nike Windrunner Jacket
Nike has trusted Sacai and Stone Island to reimagine its signature Windrunner jacket.The Oregon-based activewear giant’s NikeLab division has turned to the manufacturers to create new versions of the jacket as a part of its Year of the Windrunner celebration. Stone The Windrunner jacket has been a staple in the Nike line since its debut in the Seventies and has been worn by everybody from distance runners to hipsters.The NikeLab x Stone Island model uses water- and wind-resistant Mussola Gommata fabric for the chevron and hood by bonding lightweight cotton muslin to an opaque polyurethane film. Nylon Metal, a proprietary Stone Island fabric with a metallic sheen, is used on the body of the garment, which is lined with PrimaLoft. The jacket is garment-dyed to mimic color-blocking.The Sacai jacket, designed by Chitose Abe, provides a faux-fur hood and physique with ripstop fabric.Each jackets can be available starting on Dec. 17 at NikeLab retailers and on the Nike Internet site. The Stone Island jacket will retail for $750 and stone island art no the Sacai version will sell for $600.
