Last month the United States gave 5 billion dollars in aid to Pakistan and another whopping 4 billion dollars will be bestowed on them this month. I read that in the newspapers today. That was five times the previous aid.
Americans please don’t mind, I don’t try to offend you but I thought the US was going through an economic crisis. Is it justified enough?
The US doesn’t understand that Pakistanis will use this huge amount to fund terror activities against our India and this money would hardly go into humanitarian causes.
This is another reason why the States should have more power than the federal government. The people should have a freakin’ opinion about our countries money! Regardless of political party, we should all have a VOICE about our country.
I love that our country is charitable and gives to other countries, but if I were allowed to vote on this issues, I would have said NO to giving Pakistan money.

Considering that they basically allow HAMAS to rule them, we are funding terrorism. You would think this would make Iran jump with joy.

On the contrary. Alleviating poverty in the most needy areas of Pakistan, especially in the north, strengthening the civilian government, and providing employment for young Pakistanis is the best way to PREVENT Islamist militarism spreading in that country, and beyond its borders.

Exactly, the news makes it sound like they are delivering the money to those injured during the conflict… Sounds good, but they are actually delivering it to HAMAS, the ones who started the war in the first place.

Loonatics, you must not know anything about the conflicts in the middle east. Hamas doesn’t run Pakistan, they have nothing to do with Pakistan. Also, Iran wouldn’t be happy about giving Sunnis (who don’t serve their purpose) any type of aid, since Iran is a shiaa majority.

yes it is justified. They are in the center of AlQ and Taliban terrorist.
We need their help.
We also give money to India.
The US does understand this money goes to their military.
Pakistan is no more a terrorist than say India.

I’ve thought Foreign Aid should’ve stopped a long time ago. To continue in this economic climate is just stupid. & to give it to such an unstable, terror ridden state as Pakistan – insane.

It’s a worrying issue, clearly aid is needed and it seems to be very difficult to get the money to where it’s needed.

I don’t think our government looks at the bigger picture when they hand out our tax dollars. And that would be "How would this benifit the United States of America?"
