People are asking why we as Muslims are never trying to stop extremists and even those on the TV ask this. How come they don’t look in the newspapers of the countries they talk about? For example, I’ve been reading the Pakistani newspaper "Pakistan Observer" daily since I was here October 8th. I plan to continue reading it right up until I land back in the US. 50 Taliban killed here, 3 extremists sentenced to life terms here by the Terrorism Court, missiles defused there. Why isn’t this making headlines back home in the US? I have posted some of the stuff on my blog and will continue to do so when I have the time. This is a question that is really nagging at me. So why don’t we hear about it back home?

My Answer is that Peace Loving Muslims of the World were not involved in training Mujahideen to make them Terrorists. We the Muslims are not benefited by their actions and we are suppressed, condemned and humiliated every day by the Media, by the Governments, and even by the common people as though every Muslim is either a terrorist or supports Terrorism, while forgetting the near past who was responsible for their upbringing and who supported them.
Who trained these Terrorists?
Please recall; these Terrorists were called Respected Mujahideen as they gave their lives to fight the Communists Infidels occupying Afghanistan. They did it as a holy obligation that will fetch them Martyrdom and as they say fetch them forty Virgin Huris in heaven.
Special Prayers offered for their victory in Muslim Mosques on Fridays. I was in Saudi Arabia then.Their Photos were taken with the President of the most powerful country.
Well, the job was accomplished, Russian infidels left Afghanistan, their might was weakened and this defeat caused the destruction of Soviet Russia. Now the Mujahideen who were victorious and intoxicated fully by the drink of Islam wanted to establish Islamic Rule in Afghanistan. Now the story changes and their version of Islam is not needed any more as that type of Islam was needed only to fight with Russian Forces at the cost of their lives. Now they should go back to their old version of Islam. The same Saudi Arabia, which organized Special prayers for their victory will kill them if they are found now.
As a common Muslim my question is; Well, we wanted to free Afghanistan from Communist Regime and give the people freedom, peace and prosperity. Did they get it?
How many Civilians men and women are getting killed and being killed every day now?
We wanted Saddam Hussain to fight with Iran and all the Middle East Arabs supported him with money and weapons. Special programs were relayed in Saudi TV about Saddam and he was their Hero. World Record was set that a Muslim Country fought against another Muslim Country continuously for Eight years, which made millions of Muslims die and leave widows and orphans more than them. OK; job accomplished and later Saddam Hussein is not required any more, he is a Tyrannical Ruler, he should be replaced to give people freedom, peace and prosperity.
OK; Saddam Hussein is attacked and the same Arab Brothers who supported him earlier being their Hero, support for his ouster and finally he is hanged. People of Iraq celebrated that day. They continue celebrating every day, as more and more people are being killed every day and it outnumbered in multiples than Saddam would have killed in his time of rule. Have we achieved the promised Peace and Prosperity? Can we count how many were killed and how many widows and orphans are on the roads?
Another point is any destruction, any murder, any bomb explosion, any suicide bombing which is causing losses to only Muslims now is attributed to those Terrorists. Where are those Terrorists? We even know their names and their past, we receive their messages, their photos on Media, but we cannot trace them, we cannot capture them, we cannot kill them, Can I ask why? How long this operation will go on? How long, the common peace loving Muslims have to get humiliated and suffer for it? What we the peace loving Muslims can do? Do we possess the required Media to pass on this message? Islam does not preach killing innocent, men, women and children. Why the voice of peace loving Muslims not heard or neglected, while every one says we the Muslims are not doing any thing in this regard? Can you, me and others go and kill those terrorists, while the most powerful country started raising their hands and the powerful president of Pakistan is in trouble now? We are sick of hearing these allegations every day.
My Humble Request to every one; for God sake in the view of the above facts, please stop this propaganda of Terrorism against the peace loving Muslims of whole world and to start with on Yahoo Answers.

Musharraf is playing a very dangerous game.On the one hand he serves up the ocassional terrorist leader to appease the Americans and keep the aid coming into Pakistan.
On the other he is fighting to retain power and to keep the muslim fundamentalists happy.It is known that Al Qaeda have training camps in Pakistan and he does little to shut them down.
The world should be more concerned about Pakistan and what is happening there.They are already a nuclear nation.

Because every news organization has an agenda.
They will not report 100% of the truth, considering the truth is subjective anyway.

Insha’Allah, you are asking a rhetorical question.
Any one who has been following the political movements of the United States since slightly prior to and hence after the events known worldwide as "9/11" is aware of exactly why only news regarding the "horrors" of "Islamic extremist" is virtually all that Americans and most other Westerners ever hear about Islam as well as what is happening abroad. Simply stated, it does not fit into the current agenda of this administration which is following lessons well learned from European history that teaches that a nation in economic decline needs an "enemy" so as to keep the general population from focusing on the more pressing matters that the same nation faces.
Rather than looking at the trillions of dollars we are spending abroad so as to occupy another nation in the vain hopes of controlling the natural resources of an area while destablizing the same and making our own country less safe and secure while further limiting the freedoms and rights of the citizens of this country, curtailing health care for children, the elderly and the disabled (even military veterans), underfunding our educational system, allowing the mega corporations to pollute our air, soil and water, rather than dealing with the impact of recent natural disasters, rather than curtainling and stopping the banking industry from bleeding the average citizen financially dry while ruining our economic system, etc., etc., etc., we can all "hate" the "terrorist" who we label as the "cause of it all" while feeling "good" about ourselves as we do it!
At this moment, anything or person who has anything to do with "Islam" is suspect and at any moment may be labeled as an "enemy of the state" and then dealt with as such.
It also makes the majority of persons in the USofA feel superior to those designated as the "bad guys".
What is ironic is that the real "bad guys" all reside in Washington D.C. and who were supposedly (more or less) elected to represent the very people they are so obviously failing to represent or protect. The real "weapons of mass destruction" are in the Oval Office. The ones who are lying to the American people are the ones whom the American people think are telling them the "whole" truth (after all, they are on tv and if it is on tv it must be true…")
If the majority of persons in the Western nations actually knew the truth about Islam, what it truly teaches and how such would radically changed society for the better if it was followed as it was and is taught, there would be a conversion of peoples not on a local scale, not on a regional scale and not on a national scale but on a global scale.
No one would be paying interest on loans. Everything being sold would be sold at a fair price, without any price gougingor fixing. Food would become much healthier and less expensive. Society as a whole would take care of those in need and everyones standard of living would be improved. Recreational drug use would quickly cease. Education would become a fundamantal right for everyone and would be promoted and supported so as to benefit all of society. Equality would not be just a "dream", it would become a reality. This list could go on for a long while.
However, if such did happen, virtually all banks in the Western world would cease to exist in the manner in which they do currently exist. The oil companies would find themselves in a situation where their price gouging and price fixing would no longer be tolerated. The huge "mega-corporations" would find themselves and their boards of directors answerable for a host of crimes against humanity from pollution to literally poisioning our children. Our government, in that is supported (some might say has been bought and paid for)by the very economic corrupters who would be suddenly exposed and deposed as the same, would be radically changed and those in power now would find themselves in "courts of law" answering for their actions and inactions.
Insha’Allah, if the "people" heard the truth the liars who are telling them the stories they are now hearing would be in trouble and as they now control what we hear and how and when we hear it the current status quo will remain in place.
If you have ever studied history, especially "recent" European history, you might remember another nation that practiced all of this style of political deceit and propoganda against its own people. Their "George" was named "Adolph".
Most people will not like this answer and many a thumbs down will be added to it. Such is fine. However, occasionally, someone needs to tell the truth so that someone else might hear it. For those who freely choose to remain deaf, the people in Nazi Germany did just the same and claimed personal innocence in regards to what their government had done. Eventually all of creation will return to its Maker and each will be held accountable for what each has done. Protest of "I didn’t know…" probably wont mean much or hold much merit on that day. Each person has to make a choice and live with the consequences of the same. Please, try to make wise choices.

you know what.. i’ve asked the same question to foreigners i talk to over and over again… the problem is that the US media and the affairs of the US are heavily influenced by the notorious israely lobby we hear about all the time..
the entire media in the US is controlled by a few tycoons who have a huge inclination towards israel and its causes.. and this is an open secret!
why arent they throwing light over the efforts of the pak. govt and forces? well they’d be dumb if they did so.. ! i mean they’ve been portraying pakistan as the taliban heaven… a place where millitants seek refuge all the time.. a place where the taliban when attacked by the nato forces go and relax and come back when guns fall silent! such corrupt and skewed media can NOT after all this brainwashing backtrack and actually claim that pakistan is doing good to tackle the terror threat that it too faces.
one of the glimpses of the totally skewed media is the recent newsweek cover story [read more about it in my recent question] that actually has the cover title declaring pakistan as the most dangerous!
the american and canadian people are constantly told that pakistan is a place filled with sand dunes, millitants all around, camels as sole means of transport, no technology, burqa-clad women who are tormented every second by men, a place where osama lives in his mansion in the heart of a city, a country which has no constitution and a country which has nukes in a condition that is more fragile than anything!
i just hope people open their eyes and rely less on distorted foreign media. i think it’s high time people actually read news from other non-biased media sources.. i think it’d only be good if people watch ARY ONE WORLD, GEO ENGLISH or PTV PRIME [all are available in the US/UK/CAN and are PAKISTAN based channels] and get a more better insight into what is actually happening here in pakistan.
