Pakistan is offering a US$126,000 reward for help in identifying the gunmen who attacked Sri Lankas cricket team.
Pakistans Punjab province took out advertisements in newspapers today (Wednesday) offering the reward. The ad shows two alleged attackers, one dressed in brown and the other blue, both carrying backpacks and guns.
Around a dozen attackers armed with guns, grenades and rocket launchers attacked the visiting players in the eastern city of Lahore on Tuesday. The assault underscored the challenges facing Pakistan as it battles rising Islamist violence. Six police officers and a driver were killed. Seven players, an umpire and an assistant coach were wounded, but none of the injuries were life-threatening.
