A rare moment of honesty from a liberal:
LAHORE: The leadership of Al Qaeda is in Pakistan, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday.
“I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn’t get them if they really wanted to,” she added.
“Maybe that’s the case; maybe they’re not gettable. I don’t know… As far as we know, they are in Pakistan,” Clinton told senior Pakistani newspaper editors in Lahore, AFP reported. “The percentage of taxes on GDP (in Pakistan) is among the lowest in the world… We (the United States) tax everything that moves and doesn’t move, and that’s not what we see in Pakistan,” she said.
With the revelations of the likes of Clinton and M. Waters, the lies and deceptions of Obama and Congress, do we really need further proof that these are not the caliber of people we want runnong the country ?
You may have heard many of these!
"Nothing bad can happen to us if we’re on a plane in India with Sachin
Tendulkar on it."
- Hashim Amla, the South African batsman, reassures himself as he boards a
flight .
"Sometimes you get so engrossed in watching batsmen like Rahul Dravid and
Sachin Tendulkar that you lose focus on your job."
- Yaseer Hameed in pakistani newspaper.
"To Sachin, the man we all want to be"
- Andrew Symonds wrote on an aussie t-shirt he autographed specially for
Sachin.
?Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium,
there is something we don’t know, something beyond scientific measure.
Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that,
forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot
even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their TV sets and
switch off their lives."
- BBC on Sachin
"Tuzhe pata hai tune kiska catch chhoda hai?"(Do You Know whose catch you have dropped?)
- Wasim Akram to Abdul Razzaq when the latter dropped Sachin’s catch in
2003 WC.
Sachin is a genius. I’m a mere mortal.
- Brian Charles Lara
"We did not lose to a team called India …we lost to a man called Sachin."
- Mark Taylor, during the test match in Chennai (1997)
"The more I see of him the more confused I’m getting to which is his best
knock ."
- M. L. Jaisimha
"The joy he brings to the millions of his countrymen, the grace with which
he handles all the adulation and the expectations and his innate humility -
all make for a one-in-a-billion individual,"
- Glen McGrath
"I can be hundred per cent sure that Sachin will not play for a minute
longer when he is not enjoying himself. He is still so eager to go out
there and play. He will play as long as he feels he can play,"
- Anjali Tendulkar
Question: Who do you think as most important celebrity ?
Shah Rukh Khan: There was a big party where stars from bollywood and
cricket were invited. Suddenly, there was a big noise, all wanted to see
approaching Amitabh Bachhan. Then Sachin entered the hall and Amitabh was
leading the queue to get a grab of the GENIUS!!
- Shah Rukh Khan in an interview.
He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also.
- Waqar Younis
‘I Will See God When I Die But Till Then I Will See Sachin’
- A banner in Sharjah
Sachin Tendulkar has often reminded me of a veteran army colonel who has
many medals on his chest to show how he has conquered bowlers all over the
world . I was bowling to Sachin and he hit me for two fours in a row. One
from point and the other in between point and gully. That was the last two
balls of the over and the over after that we (SA) took a wicket and during
the group meeting i told Jonty (Rhodes) to be alert and i know a way to pin
Sachin. And i delivered the first ball of my next over and it was a fuller
length delevery outside offstump. And i shouted catch. To my astonishment
the ball was hit to the cover boundary. Such was the brilliance of Sachin.
His reflex time is the best i have ever seen. Its like 1/20th of a sec. To
get his wicket better not prepare. Atleast u wont regret if he hits you for
boundaries .
- Allan Donald
On a train from Shimla to Delhi , there was a halt in one of the stations.
The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing century,
batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train
waited for Sachin to complete the century. This Genius can stop time in
India !!
- Peter Rebouck – Aussie journalist
There are 2 kind of batsmen in the world. One Sachin Tendulkar .. Two all the
others .
- Andy Flower
"I have seen god, he bats at no.4 for India "
- Mathew Hayden
"Commit all your sins when Sachin is batting. They will go unnoticed coz
even the GOD is watching"
- A hoarding in England
NOW THE BEST AND 100% TRUEST OF THE LOT
"Even my father’s name is Sachin Tendulkar."
- Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara, tells her class her father’s name after the teacher informs them of a restaurant of the same name in Mumbai.
Thnx but the credit doesn’t go to me. My friend sent it to me.
I know this aint a question , but I tried my level best to make it into one!
Really enjoyed reading all the comments, my star to you is recognition of your efforts.
Don’t know, which one to choose, think the list includes all the nationalities, some top cricketers themselves saying all the adjectives about their fellow cricketer, so rubbish postings in YA, about Sachin, should see this list & refrain yourself from such postings.
His daughter’s quip is amazing, so his humility on the field isn’t fabricated, he keeps things simple at home too, well said sir, can’t choose between odes to Sachin, as all are said so nicely about a decent human being, super star of cricket !!!!!

Beleaguered president leaves but Pakistan’s problems remain
With opponents vowing to impeach him, Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf announced his resignation on Monday. According to the Guardian Newspaper Musharraf’s problems are far from over. Though covered for his military coup in 1999 by a constitutional amendment, he has no such protection for the state of emergency he declared last fall, and is thus open to prosecution as long as he remains in Pakistan. There are also a lot of people-mainly Islamic militants-who want to kill him. According to the Hindu newspaper “Musharraf’s exit is unlikely to undo Pakistani militants. ” It goes on to state that the country’s new civilian government has done “little to change Musharraf’s policies in the troubled northwest regions bordering Afghanistan. The coalition government wants to retain close ties to Washington, and support the international fight against Islamic extremism.”

Shehzad Tanweer’s family said that he attended a madrassa for two months in the city of Lahore. That has led to intense media speculation in Britain that he may have been "brainwashed" into carrying out the attacks.
It is widely acknowledged that most madrassas are moderate institutions, providing much needed education and board and lodgings for poorer students. The Koran is studied intensively.
But are some of them "breeding-grounds of terror"?
It is estimated that there are now around 20,000 madrassas in Pakistan, compared to around 137 at the time of partition.
According to the Pakistani newspaper, The News, there are today around 1.7m students who attend such institutions, mainly from poor rural families.

New Delhi: Troubles never seem to end for Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar. A Pakistani newspaper The Nation has reported that a large number of syringes were found in cricketer Shoaib Akhtar’s bag at the Karachi airport while he was heading to India.
Shoaib reportedly argued that he is a diabetic and needs the syringes to inject himself with insulin.
However, when a senior official of the board was asked about the incident, he said it was no big deal as the syringes were empty and contained no substances.
Shafqat Naghmi, chief operating officer also showed ignorance over the medical history of Shoaib saying he would have to check up to find out if the fast bowler was a diabetic.
But he made it clear that Shoaib had gone to India to play in the IPL and currently he was under the preview of the IPL rules and regulations.

Respect and wanting to share the same country are two totally different things.
an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is so they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
**************************************************************************
"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of everything…the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.
The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It’s been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
The man talks sense! I wish everyone in the world thought about things abit more, and were generally alittle more like you!
PAKISTANI PROPAGANDA MACHINE’S FABRICATONS EXPOSED!!
Indian government states that they have not received any counter dossier from Pakistan.
Earlier Prime Minister Gilani ,the Pakistani government & the famous Pakistani newspaper Dawn had claimed that Pakistan had sent a “counter dossier” containing proof of India’s involvement in Balochistan & suice bombings in Pakistan
THIS ALLEGATIONS NOW PROVED TO BE NON-EXISTENT!!
Minister of State for External Affairs, Shashi Tharoor said to the media that he was not aware of any dossier of any kind being received by the government. Tharoor further added that if any such dossier existed, the government would surely examine it. I have not seen this dossier myself, if there is a dossier I am sure the competent colleagues in my ministry are looking at it, and I am sure that when we have studied it we would have a suitable response, said Tharoor.
Regarding other preposterous charges in the media, Tharoor said: It is not wise for us to react to media reports. But we dont believe that deflecting responsibility for things that are happening in a dysfunctional state, to their neighbours who have conducted themselves very differently, is a very healthy a thing. Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur told reporters, First and foremost its (the news report) a wrong statement, there is no dossier that has been circulated. There is no dossier that has been handed over either to External Affairs or to our government. It is a media report by which we are going.
